I can't believe it. I drove across 90% of Idaho and all of Wyoming today. Yep, I'm in Nebraska. 830 miles. Most of WY was at about 87mph, so I was able to make good time. While on the road, I heard a reference to "Frontier Days" in Cheyenne, my final destination. I began to call around for hotels and discovered they were $200 a night. NOPE! So I ventured further- about 60 miles further and still have to pay more than I should for this room. Oh well, I'm tired, so I needed a bed.
Idaho was a good drive. Instead of taking the freeway down to just north of Salt Lake and then over to Wyoming, I went to Pocatello and then snaked through the mountains to Green River WY. It was a bit slower and there was some "stimulus" construction, but I got to have a great lunch in a bar in Soda Springs. That off the beaten path drive was great. I'm glad I did it.
Wyoming...wow. I can't say how much I love Wyoming. Such a beautiful state. I mostly drove straight through with few stops. I do have some great photos though. The one here is of a Nodding Donkey which is a memory of mine from my youth. I loved seeing those for the first time on all the trips.
I'm tired now, so am gonna bow out. My photos are currently uploading, so check out the linky.

Wierd. On my 2 trips x-country Wyoming seemed like a prison sentence in a cowboy hell.
